2018 Reading List

December 11, 2018

In 2017 and 2018, I committed to read more books. I read a lot for work - policies, articles, reports, references - but I always crave non-required reading, which usually means a non-fiction novel. I'm so proud to say I have been succeeding!

I've been asked how I "find time" to read, and my reply is simple: if I can spend 30 to 60 minutes scrolling useless shit on Instagram and Facebook, surely I can carve 30 minutes to 60 minutes to read one chapter in the morning and one chapter at night. This is what I try to do as often as I can.

Here's my 2018 reading list and my reviews in stars:

  1. Soul of An Octopus ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  2. Chasing Chaos ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  3. How to Change the World ⭐️⭐️⭐️

  4. Band-aid for a Broken Leg ⭐️⭐️⭐️

  5. Educated ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  6. An American Marriage ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  7. Crazy Rich Asians ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  8. Too Fat, Too Slutty, Too Loud: The Rise and Reign of the Unruly Woman ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  9. Everything I Learned about Love ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  10. Becoming ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

  11. Calypso ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Unfinished:

  1. The Sun and Her Flowers

  2. How To Love

  3. The Secret Life of Trees

  4. TED Talks: The Official TED Guide to Public Speaking

  5. Spineless

  6. Green's Not Black and White

I'm always a little sad when I'm approaching the end of a book, but always a little happy because it means I get to start a new one. For 2019, I'm aiming to reach at least 12 books!
